When I attended the Senior Executive Program at Columbia University in New York back in 2008 I was a bit surprised about the lecturers’ emphasis on „Story Telling“. I knew (and experienced) story telling in marketing, both professionally and from a clients’ perspective. But how should it be of significant benefit in leadership?
Our practical use cases made the benefit of personal stories very obvious to me: When it comes for instance to career development people tend to buy into a convincing and emotional story rather than a dry project plan.
I still apply story telling techniques successfully, nowadays in my business coaching practice. Will follow-up with an example next week – stay healthy and confident … 🙂
